As part of the Cryospheric Sciences Lab., I study snow properties snow on various surfaces through the use of remote sensing instruments, models, and in-situ measurements. Among all remote sensing instruments available, I favor those operating in the microwave domain. They can be either active (radars) or passive (radiometers), and operated from a spacecraft, an aircraft, or on the ground. My projects address snow on ice sheets (like Antarctica and Greenland), snow on sea ice, and snow on land though they tend to focus mainly on the investigation of polar regions. I have participated in 8 polar deployments in both hemispheres, as well as several campaigns at mid-latitudes.
