C41B/C34E - Using NASA SnowEx Data to Advance Global Snow Observations through Remote Sensing, Algorithm Development and Modeling
Oral | Thursday, December 12 from 8:30-10:00 EST
Poster | Thursday, December 12 from 13:40-17:30 EST
Snow plays a critical role in Earth’s water and energy cycles, contributing to freshwater resources while helping to cool the planet. The goal of the NASA SnowEx campaign is to determine an optimal approach for monitoring snow from space. Campaign data and other integrated open science tools and models developed by the community, will be showcased to investigate sensor capabilities and limitations across a variety of spatial and temporal scales.
This session will highlight research using field campaign data from snowy environments to explore pathways to accurate spaceborne snow measurements.
